Highlights of 2009

I was kindly tagged by the lovely Metroplitan Mum to discuss personal highlights of the past year. I did not need to think too long and hard about this as for me there were two. 1. Leaving the heaving metropolis of London for peace, beauty and ease of the countryside, and 2. Discovering fashionable finds in my new surroundings, so I'm never far away from an item of silk, cashmere, cotton or fur whenever I have the desire to splurge on an item of luxury. You see I have, at last, found the one one emotion I have been seeking - contentment.

If you've found contentment, then you're way ahead of most of the rest of us! Congrats!

London's great but I love to visit rather than live there. You can find everything outside the capital. Glad you found contentment :)

Was it as easy as it sounds? How long have you been pondering about whether to move or not? We are thinking about moving, too. And one day I am like 'yay, let's pack up and go' and then again 'nooo, I can't leave London behind'. I am far from having found contentment.

You can take a girl out of London, but you can't take London out of a girl..... that's how I feel over here in the Netherlands anyway. Wishing you many more exciting discoveries in the country.

lovely post. I live in the countryside. There is nothing else like the feeling of waking up on a sunday morning to the calm quietness of the countryside.
It must have been quite a change for you after London!

I grew up in the country. The older I get, the more I wish for the solitude.
